On Saturday, May 16th, Americas Community Center proudly hosted the Americas Tarde Literaria Book Fair in partnership with Weston Town Center, bringing together 36 authors representing a wide variety of genres and stories. From children’s books and poetry to memoirs, inspiration, history, recipes, and fiction, there was truly something for everyone to discover and enjoy.
Throughout the afternoon, community members walked through rows of tents filled entirely with books, often commenting on how pleasantly surprised they were by the diversity of authors and the welcoming atmosphere created throughout the event. Families, readers, aspiring writers, and curious visitors spent the day connecting with authors, learning about their stories, and experiencing the joy of literature together.
A special part of the event was the live stage conversations hosted by Tarde Literaria moderator Luis Alfonso Hoyos, where several authors shared their personal journeys, writing processes, and experiences becoming published authors. These conversations inspired many in attendance to pursue their own dreams of writing and storytelling.
Among the special guests was Daniel Díaz-Balart, who shared his father Congressman Lincoln Díaz-Balart’s book and stories from his life, including memories connected to Americas Community Center Founder Fabio A. Andrade and the important work they did together during the early years of Americas, helping families through political asylum cases.
The event also welcomed beloved Venezuelan actor Franklin Virgüez, as well as former Venezuelan political prisoner, security expert, and author Iván Simonovis, who shared part of his personal story and journey with the community. Alongside them were many talented local authors who proudly showcased their books and connected with attendees throughout the day.
The children’s area was filled with books, interactive activities, and engaging experiences designed especially for young readers. Children’s authors brought creativity and excitement to the event, with several booths becoming full experiences for families to enjoy together.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day was the partnership between the authors and the student volunteers who supported the event from beginning to end. Students assisted authors throughout the day, helping with setup, organization, and hospitality, while also having the opportunity to build genuine connections and conversations with the writers. The experience left a lasting impression on both the students and the authors alike.
“One of my favorite parts of the day was interacting with the student volunteers. They were incredibly helpful, hardworking, and kind throughout the entire event. Kudos to the community for raising such wonderful young leaders.”

Author Olga Montoya, creator of Cicatrices Invisibles, also shared her gratitude for being part of an event that celebrated culture, storytelling, and the transformative power of words. She highlighted the warmth, dedication, and meaningful connections created throughout the day, expressing her hope to continue participating in future events that inspire and unite the community.

Immigration Attorney
"As an immigration attorney, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the incredible work Americas Community Center does for our immigrant community. Through their programs and outreach, they have created a platform that truly empowers individuals seeking a better future in this country. Thanks to the network they've built—especially through Americas Business Networking—I’ve been able to collaborate with fellow immigration attorneys, share resources, and extend our reach far beyond what we could do alone. Together, we've provided guidance, clarity, and hope to individuals and families facing complex immigration challenges. This organization is more than just a support system—it’s a bridge that connects professionals with those who need us most. I’m proud to be a part of their mission." Americas Community Center empowers immigrants, connects professionals, and builds hope—impacting lives through collaboration, clarity, and a shared mission.
Bloomin Blinds
My name is Male Medana, I arrived at Americas Community Center four years ago when I emigrated from Argentina. I started with ABN for networking purposes, as a way to promote our business Bloomin Blinds a window coverings treatment franchise that we opened as part of our move to the United States. Little by little, I got to know more about Americas Community Center, and not only I get involved, but my family also became engaged in lots of programs. As I always say, it was not just about networking; it gave me the opportunity to meet amazing people who have taught me a lot. Americas is a large Family where I met several participants who helped me integrate into the United States. Through this experience, I learned a lot about this country , my actual city Weston and, most importantly, found support in becoming part of the community. I will always be eternally grateful to Fabio, Alexis, and their family for welcoming me into Americas Community Center. Not only for helping me integrate into the community but also for teaching me how to grow both in my business and as a person. Thank you so much!
Ociris Multiservices Cleaning
Americas is a community that works. I’ve been a part of the ABN networking group for the past year, and recently, I witnessed just how powerful this community truly is. A close friend of mine was going through a very difficult time — her daughter was in and out of the hospital with serious health struggles. Without hesitation, participants of ABN stepped in to help. An insurance agent offered guidance and advice even though my friend wasn’t a client. A doctor from a medical office provided telemedicine support, despite the little girl not being a patient. And the support didn’t stop there — the list goes on. What you find at Americas Community Center and within this networking group is more than just business connections. You find kind-hearted professionals who are driven by a spirit of service. This is a network that truly shows up when it matters most.
