Americas Community Center Celebrates Independence Day at the City of Weston 4th of July Parade

This Independence Day, Americas Community Center was proud to once again participate in the City of Weston’s annual 4th of July Parade, joining thousands of residents in celebrating the values that unite our community: freedom, service, diversity, and the American spirit.

Our participation showcased the beauty of cultural unity through our colorful Colombian Chiva, transformed with patriotic red, white, and blue accents in honor of the United States. As it made its way through the parade route, the Chiva became a symbol of how cultures can come together to celebrate both our heritage and the country we proudly call home.

The typical Colombian Chiva filled with Volunteers waiving to the crowds

Walking alongside the Chiva were dozens of dedicated Americas Community Center volunteers who enthusiastically shared information about the upcoming Colombian Heritage Celebration at the Miami Marlins on August 8, inviting families from across South Florida to join this special community event.

Adding excitement and vibrant energy to the celebration were our volunteer dancers, dressed in traditional Carnaval de Barranquilla costumes specially styled in patriotic USA colors. Their performances highlighted one of Colombia’s most celebrated cultural traditions while paying tribute to America’s Independence Day, creating a beautiful blend of cultures that reflects the diversity of our community.

We were especially honored to welcome “La Reina” del Carnaval de Barranquilla Miami USA and  “La Reina Infantil” del Carnaval de Barranquilla Miami USA, whose participation brought elegance, joy, and cultural pride to the parade. Their presence was a meaningful reminder that preserving our traditions while embracing our American identity strengthens the communities we serve.

At Americas Community Center, we believe that cultural diversity is one of our nation’s greatest strengths. Events like the City of Weston 4th of July Parade provide an opportunity to celebrate our shared values while honoring the unique traditions that each community contributes to the American story.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City of Weston for organizing another outstanding Independence Day celebration and to every volunteer, dancer, supporter, and family member who represented Americas Community Center with pride. Your dedication continues to demonstrate the power of community service and cultural unity.

As we reflect on another memorable Independence Day celebration, we are reminded that our work of building community continues beyond the parade route.

To continue honoring the rich diversity of our community, Americas Community Center invites you to join us for an intimate After Hours celebration on Thursday, July 16th recognizing the five nations that celebrate their independence during the month of July: the United States, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, and Argentina.

This special evening will bring together community members, business leaders, and friends to celebrate our shared values, cultural traditions, and the bonds that unite us. We invite everyone to join us for this meaningful evening of connection, networking, and celebration.
