Five Years of Celebrating Colombian Heritage with the Miami Marlins

For the fifth year, Americas Community Center was proud to join the Miami Marlins in celebrating Colombian Heritage and bringing our community together for a day of culture, family and baseball.

What started five years ago has become a tradition we look forward to every year—an opportunity to invite the Americas’ community to the ballpark, celebrate Colombian culture and create a space where families can come together.

This year was especially meaningful as Americas had the opportunity to invite Dreya Starr, a Weston local and Colombian-American artist, to perform at the ballpark, giving us another opportunity to showcase the incredible talent that exists right here in our community. This was thanks to our partnership with the Weston Music Society another fellow non-profit in our city.

Events like the Colombian Heritage Game represent an important part of what Americas has been doing for 25 years: connecting people.

We connect our community with local businesses, elected officials, nonprofit organizations and community leaders, creating relationships that strengthen the communities we serve. We believe that when these different groups work together, we can accomplish more, respond faster when our neighbors need help and make sure our community remains informed, engaged and united.

At the forefront of everything we do is community service.

The support and donations Americas receives through partnerships and events like the Colombian Heritage Game help make our work possible. These funds allow us to continue our programs, organize community initiatives, support families in times of need and create the connections that turn ideas into action.

For us, being the “Gran Conector” means more than introducing people. It means bringing the right people to the same table and creating opportunities for businesses, leaders and residents to work together for the good of the community.

Thank you to the Miami Marlins, Dreya Starr, our partners and every member of the Americas community who joined us this year. Your participation and support allow Americas Community Center to continue doing what we have done for the past 25 years: connect, serve and bring our community together.

Special thanks to Enrique Story from Terainsight Media for capturing the moments of the event.
